Happy Hong Kong 2016

Woooaaah! It’s been a year since I have traveled to Hong Kong for three daysย ๐ŸŒธ , still my hearts feels soย kiligsย ๐Ÿ’—. Originally, this travel blog is suppose to be posted a few days after my trip to HK but, unfortunately I got somehow busy at work and with my personal life, but more like reminiscing everyday how amazing my first international trip wasย ๐Ÿ˜†. Yes, honestly, my HK trip never sink until a year later (like OAย โœŒ๐Ÿผ) For real, this is one of the best days of my life! Promise xx

Let’s go Day One:

Five a.m. flight.ย Puyatย  but super excited. My mom and myย ate together with Tita Melody went to the airport two hours earlier than the flight time. [Fact: one of my childhood dreams is to ride on a plane. Nobody knew how I feels so fascinated about these planes whenever I see them up in the air that seems like they are so near with the sky and the clouds.] Since twas my first time to get inside the airport, my eyes were very busy observing everything that is happening around me and anything that caught my eyes.ย ๐Ÿ‘€

We did too much chilling knowing the time was too early, I almost missed my flight. Nerve-racking momentย ๐Ÿ’ฆ Running so hard, catching my breath, paying attention that I almost left my passport in the counterย ๐Ÿ˜ Geeez. I am excited that I got my seat by the window. Yieeppiee ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Oh! I haven’t informed yet to you, that though this is a family vacation trip, but I got my flight earlier than them. This means that I got to travel alone, for my first plane ride, and for my first international trip. [Fact: One of my bucket list, is to experience doing things alone. Like watching movies, go shopping, travelling alone, etc.] The excitement never leaves me as well as being nervous at the same time. Hey. It’s my first time and I am alone, how could I not be worried about myself.ย ๐Ÿ˜จ When our plane already bounded HK, the view high up there was amazing.ย ๐Ÿ’ฏ

When our plane landed, as it was my first time, I just follow the passenger where they are headed to. Unlike in NAIA, where the immigration, the airport and the checking of baggage are just a walk a away, in HK you need to take subway to get to the immigration. The plan was for me to wait two hours in the airport so I will be together with my mom andย ateย passing through the immigration. But, I take courage. “Experience is the best teacher.” I fall in line and greeted the HK Immigration Officer a good morning, but I was still put on hold. My mind was like “What’s going on?” I really cannot explain how I am feeling that very moment, I just kept in my mind that I have to pay attention. They just ask me few questions with my work in the Philippines, who I am with & what I am going to do in HK. Maybe I was too young for them to be travelling alone, so I was put on hold. Wheeew! I pass through the immigration after the short interview.ย ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Their terminal is so big and bright. Still nervous, the walk around the airport and look for McDonald’s where our meeting area is. I sat there and wait for mom,ย ate, and Tita to arrive.

Then, we had our way to our mini hotel atย Cosmic Guesthouse to leave our baggage and rest a while.

Day One. First Stop.ย Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery

Though jet-lag, we cannot waste a day just resting in our mini, so we had our first stop for the dayย ๐Ÿ“Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery. From the hotel, we rode two trains and walk along Sha Tin road until we reach the place. The location of the monastery is quite hidden, maybe because it’s holy for Buddhists, that needs quiet place.

We walked along the lined-up human-sized all golden-colored Buddhas in different sculptured positions–others are seating standing, holding something,– clothes, and faces. Walking up to the temple is really breath catching. The weather is not cold, it’s the same hot as the Philippines’ but a hot windy one, plus the stairs are inclined like your climbing on a mountain.๐Ÿ˜…

After the long and sloppy walk we reached the temple. The temple is big, the ambiance is so peaceful, you’ll feel it’s sacredness, little candles were lit up in the wall beside the giant all-golden Buddha. โš ย You cannot take picture inside the temple. Outside the temple is a very spacious area, you’ll feel refreshed because the place and you’ll feel the cool wind, still, there are many Buddhas displayed, still in their human-sized, some are colored painted.

After the long and tiring walk down, we’re off to our Second Stop!

Day One. Second Stop.ย Snoopy’s World ๐Ÿถ

The attraction is located at the Ground Floor of New Port Mall that’s why there are so many people taking pictures with the human-sized figures of The Peanuts cast. โ„นThe attraction is free to all, no admission fee.

I love how the Snoopy-themed circles around the whole area. From the library-themed reception area, seeing the red-colored roof dog house where you’ll see a giant Snoopy lying around with his little yellow bird friend Woodstock sitting in his stomach, and his human-sized little cute friendsย ๐Ÿ˜

I am really amazed the the whole attraction.ย ๐Ÿ’ฏย Really feels like I am a kid again, amazed with this all these cartoon figures around meย ๐Ÿ˜‚ย ๐Ÿ‘ง

To end the long day, we had our dinner at Cafe de Coral, where, of course, Hongkong meals were served. I had Tomato Beef & Egg with Rice and a Red Bean Cooler. One thing I have observe with locals is that they’re always like moving in a fast forward x2 phase.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

Day Two. To the “Happiest Place on Earth”, Hong Kong Disneylandย ๐Ÿฐ

Kiliiggggsssย ๐Ÿ˜ย I am always lost for words when I am going to look/talk back with my experience in Disneyland. I don’ know, it feels really fulfilling as it was one of my three childhood dreams. It really left me speechless from the moment I entered until the moment I get off to the Mickey Mouse train.ย ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘Œย Indeed, it was really magicalย ๐ŸŽ‡ย Okay, let get started.

We don’t have any itinerary for our second day in Hong Kong, only to the place where my forever is: Disneyland!ย ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿพ

We got our Octopus card today at the subway station, this card is like a debit card that you can use to pay everything you buy in Hong Kong. We ride subways and drop off to three station until we get to Sunny Bay where Mickey Mouse train awaits, the only train in the station that drops you off to Disneyland. How cuteย ๐Ÿ˜ย Everything you see inside and outside the train are in it’s Mickey shape; the windows, the handrails, and the figurines displayed inside the train are all Disney characters. Even their tickets are printed in Disney characters too!ย ๐Ÿ˜

Childhood Dream No. 2: Go to Disneyland โœ…ย (and have a photo w/Mickey & Minnie)

The park was still closed when we got there, but really, the are many people already waiting. The sun is so up that day, but more than feeling hot, I am so very exciiiteeeeddd!ย ๐Ÿ˜ย I almost cried when I see Mickey and Minnie in a club car waving the the people near the entrance gate.ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

When the gate opens, all the guests fall in line so our ticket and bags could get checked.

As always, I am so amazed about everything I see around me, I guess all first timers feel the same wayย ๐Ÿ˜…ย I really can’t believe I. AM. LIVING. MY. DREAM.ย ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ’ช

First up, Photo OP with my favorite couples in their Hong Kong traditional costumes. Though the line was long and the weather was a hot one, seeing them so near me, really feels kiligs, I feel like my heart was melted and I am so excited to touch them and have a picture with themย ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ’โค๏ธ๏ธ (yes! I am giving all the hearts!) This the best day of my life (maah lalalaaaayff! ๐ŸŽถย oh, sorry can’t help but sing!)ย ๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡

Below are the attraction we have experienced on our one day adventure to Disneyland!

  • Mickey PhilharMargic, an amazing 4D theater experience;
  • pretty little-girl-kid-at-heart-feeling inside me at the Fairy Tale Forest with kiddie-made interaction to see the Princessesย ๐Ÿ‘‘;
  • our first ride experience at the Slinky Dog Spin Ride in Toy Storyland!;

  • a motion story -telling experience in the Mystic Manor;
  • short and too cute Rainy Day Express Parade with Mickey and Friends and some of Toy Story characters in their raincoats while riding the train. choooo~chooot~~๐Ÿš‚ย ;
  • a fun and easy experience shooting the enemies at the Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin;
  • a trip around the world in It’s Small World!ย ๐ŸŒ;

  • a crazy, breath-taking, extreme ride at the Big Grizzly Bear Runaway Mine Carsย ๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿ˜จ;
  • the spectacular Disney “Paint the Night” parade of the night (that leaves me speechless, wow-ed, and teary-eyedย ๐Ÿ˜ญ) and,
  • the magical Disney in the Stars Fireworks display and it’s beautiful presentation in the wall of Sleeping Beauty’s castleย ๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ†

Everything I did and see in Disneyland we’re all my favorites (of course, this is s dream come true!) But, these that still leaves me breath-taking is the spectacular parade and the magical night of fireworks display. It was so amazing, it was indeed so magical, splendid (and all the amazing words to put on!)ย ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ

To make this magical experience in Disneyland, I bought a Mickey Mouse waffle to end this perfect-dream-come-true day!

On our last day in HK, we still have few places to goย โžก

Day Three. First Stop. Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum

It was just me and my elder sister who wanted to go to this museum, since it has been over the internet that Lee Jong Suk’s wax replica was displayed and so is Lee Min Ho’s. Yes, they are our Oppas! If you ahve already read my blog last November titled “22 Facts About Me”, it’s a three-part blog, I bet you already knew that Min Ho is my first love among the Korean actors nowadays. But I guess, the odds are against us this time, because either Min Ho or Jong Suk’s wax replica wasn’t on displayed. We have asked, but they told us it was under maintenance. Still we enjoyed. I saw Taylor Swift, TVXQ, Nichhun from 2PM, Siwon Choi from Super Junior, Queen Elizabeth, Einstein, Kim Soo Hyun from the Korean hit series ‘My Love from the Stars’, Jackie Chan and so many more. There are also interactive activities, like dressing yourself as a KPop Idol, dressing up Hello Kitty and even fitting some gang’s just like Jackie Chan! It was so amazing to see this wax statues like they were real ones because they really looks like themย ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™Œ

Day Three. Second Stop. The Peak

Going to The Peak, we ride on the Peak Tram, it a train that will take you to The Peak, the highest view deck in Hong Kong, where you can see the whole view of Hong Kong. Sadly, the rain pours and it’s foggy up there, we can barely see the breath-taking view, we just took few pictures and came down.

Day Three. Third Stop. Victoria Harbourย ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿšขย (our last stop in our last day in Hong Kong)

Lagaslas Picnic Grounds, Pagsanjan

This April I had experience my first summer for this year in Pagsanjan.ย โ˜€

The whole team was meant to spend the summer outing/birthday celebration of one of the best-est guys, Drew, at Pagsanjan Falls. But, obviously,ย we didn’t, but, hey, I am still so happy that we get to spend this summer, 1. TOGETHER. COMPLETELY. ๐Ÿ‘Œ; 2. quite very far away from home ๐Ÿ–; and 3, we swim with the natureย ๐ŸŒด Yeeheeeyย ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

I cannot give you the directions how to getย there because we are jam-packed in a jeepney owned by the birthday boy and his uncle knows the way. I am sure that we have traveled for about two and a half hours– yea, it’s pretty far (and I love long roads and road trips), no stopovers, with a lot ofย tawanan, chismisan, asaran with a little nap sometime ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ no dull moments! how fun~~

Finally, we reached Pagsanjan!ย ๐ŸŒŠ

As I have said, we are about to spend time in Pagsajan Falls, since it is one of the famous spots here in the Philippines, but the boat rideย to get there was too expensive and everyone cannot afford to pay. Maybe will take it sometime soon but for now, Welcome to Lagaslas Picnic Grounds, Pagsanjan!

Pass through this heavy flowing current and rocky grounds to get theย kubo we rented for us to get a place to stay ๐Ÿ’ฆย and eat boodle!ย ๐Ÿš๐Ÿด๐Ÿ–

Tip: remove your slippers when you pass through the currents so you won’t slip because the rocky grounds are slippery. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

๐Ÿ“Œ This is a screenshot of an unfiltered 0.5 second video, but sadly, wordpress won’t allow me to upload since I am using the sites for freeย ๐Ÿ˜‚

My feet felt so happy just a dipped in the cool and clean water, though I was struggling to make a step again the current and balance myself to get to the kubo.ย ๐Ÿ˜Š

I wasn’t able to take photo with the boodle fight we had since everyone was so busy trying to help out to set-up and arrange the foods, lay-out everything, resting quite sometime since because of the long ride, and me, so busy observing every corner, every scenery, and everything about the place because it was my first time.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

The ambiance of the place was very nature, there are so many trees that surrounds the place, with lined up nipa huts, the stone ground make it more nature and the cold water coming from the falls makes the ambiance more refreshingย ๐Ÿ’ฏ

The main activity here in Pagsanjan is to see the Pagsanjan Falls byย riding the boats, shooting the rapids maneuvered by boats men that costs Php1,300/person. Besides this activity, you can also rentย life buoysย for only Php 20.00 unlimited use, to experience river rafting, float along the river and do cliff diving.

For me, I just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming (just like Dory. HAHAHA ๐Ÿ˜†) I think river rafting was funย because my friends tried it for like three timesย and they call it as “Rio Grande Rapids” of Splash Island.ย ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love how refreshing the coolness of the water. It was definitely perfect for beating the heat!

The view was amazingly awesomeย ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’ชโ˜๏ธ

The layering of the view was so great from the clear blue sky, the light and heat of the sun that makes you feel more about ‘it’s definitely SUMMERย ๐Ÿโ˜€๏ธ, the green high tress that surrounds the whole area, the different size of rocks in the ground, the nipa huts makes the ambiance more of a province and these serves as the resting place for the tourists and the locals, and of course, theย wide river that is superb refreshing!!!

One of the things I like best about this short getaway, is I get to spend time with my bestie, Aila,

IMG_20170409_121731[1]๐Ÿ“Œ That’sย me and one of my favorite longtime bestie, Aila ๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒป

and what makes more exciting is that my favorite team is finaaaaallyย  complete, the five best-est awesome guys I am with since our junior high,ย PRENDS POREBERย ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’šโค๏ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’˜ (yes, I am giving all the hearts! HAHAHAHAย โœŒ๏ธ)

20170409_134502๐Ÿ“Œย FINALLY!, after 123456789 months, we have our complete present photo in our swimming outfits! #sevenyearsandcounting #poreberprendsย ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘Š

20170409_134425๐Ÿ“Œย Taking wacky shots too because THIS IS (mooooreeee like) US!ย ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿคฃ ย #sevenyearsandcounting #poreberprends

That’s it. It’s my first summer short getaway this year since summer is just starting and I am so looking forward to my next summer getaways this year. I am pretty sure there is more.ย ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰

Calaca, Batangas

Last January 13, together with By and Arra, we visited Arra’s province, Batangas.
From office, we traveled two hours to Balayan, Batangas via van. It was just two hours but since it was our first time to go there, I think it is more than just a couple of hours. Hehehe (you know, it’s always like that for first timers *wink*) We have’t take a nap during that couple of hours travel because we have many things to talk about in and out of the office. When we get to Balayan, we waited for our motorcycle service, care of, Arra’s cousin, Tiano and uncle, Kuya Ariel. I was really nervous, though it wasn’t my first time to hitch on a motorcycle but, I was not that trustful enough (hey, i can’t be on an accident right now!) But, because I was left with no choice, I don’t to be a brat (because I am not one), even my heart was pounding so much, I rode it alone. By and Arra was on the other motorcycle. My heart was still pounding so much (and it never gets tired all way long), until be reach the highway. When I thought the we are so near, when I saw the ark of Calaca, Batangas, well, we not, we are still not yet there.
Setting my nervousness aside and the sound of my so-hard pounding heart, I was impressed and amazed with the full moon and its light with the clouds distant with it and the dark sky the makes the moon lit so bright. Yea,I really enjoyed the ride and I was smiling from ear to ear, so full of myself, forgetting the throb. I don’t know how long the ride is (but I am pretty sure it was a long ride), and finally, we reach Arra’s house.
We rest for quite sometime and eat dinner (we haven’t eat yet since we out from the office. tag-gutom bes!)
Then, we are set to have fun in Perya (Funfare). Since, Calaca will be celebrating it’s feast by Sunday, there’s Perya (Funfare) in town.
Just a little fact: Perya (Funfare) is a small themed park build during fiestas that has not-so extreme ride and fun games.

We first roam around the whole place. It was not as crowded as I expected, maybe becasue it was so late night at around 11pm. The rides are already closing and the games are somehow coming to an end. We met some of Arra’s tall cousins. We just try to play with the games that are still open at that hour just to feel the fun. We popped ballos using darts and guns and played Bingo!
Then, we head back home, take rest, watch movie, and talk more. We haven’t rest that much since we arrived, so By was the first one to knock off, me and Arra still taliking and finished the movie, though we didn’t understand at all. Arra’s cousins we’re still at the corridor (taliking bout their curennt love issues, oh, kids!)
We slept at 2AM, compressed in Arra’s bed. HAHAHAHA.

We woke up late the next day. I really wanted to stay in bed, I feel so sleepy. When Ruby called Arra, informing her that it’s like Otep was outside.
Oh, Otep. Arra has been telling stories about this cutie patotiee kid that didn’t like smiling at all and even his cousins posting a bet on who’s gonna make Otep smile. And it gets us interesting, that we wanted to meet him. Now’s the time.
Just like the usual first meeting, it seems awkward I mean its awkward. I have this “giliw” thing with kids, since I am the youngest among the family, so I never played with a younger brother or sister. So, I tried to get close to Otep. And, viola, I did, we did.
Mornings with the kids! Otep was the other way around Arra told us. HAHAHAA. Otep smiles and plays with us. We also get to know Tino and rayven. Otep’s playmates, our play mates rather. The morning just goes being kid again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Because we got up so late (than the 7AM call time), and we are so pumpled up playing with the kids that we never get tired to end it, but still we ended by lunch. We freshen up and get dressed. Without eating lunch, we are on the go! Arra takes us to Niyugan still located in Calaca, Batangas. We are are hitched in three diffrent motorcycle.
I never thought that the ride there was a triple times than the ride from Balayan to Calaca. It’s like the turns and the ups & downs were endless. Arra’s says we’re at foot of the mountain.
The air is good, cool, the sorroundings are full of tress and tall grass, though the sun is so out and ou feel that the heat is striking your skin. Nevertheless, it was fun. And the fact that I love long roads/rides, its fullfillng.
It’s like an hour drive with no stop overs. (whew!)
I never get the chance to take and picture the whole ride because: 1. the throb of hitching is never comforting and 2. i am not brave enough to loose/drop my phone. (it’s like my life has been spare everytime i get off the motorcyle whole. HAHAHAHA :D)

Brgy. Niyugan is also celebrating it’s fiesta by that time. I remember Arra when she bought cake to give to the house we are to get to. And I was like, “Bakit may pa-cake? Sinong may birthday?” then Arra explains that it’s aleays been like that. The same way with Christening and Nuptials (but still there were way more big differences, this only ones the same). And I was like okay.
Then, we ate our lunch there. HAHAHHA (that is why Ara didn’t cook us lunch, because we will be taking our lunch at her friends’ home) Hihihihi ๐Ÿ™‚
We also met her friends, Puti and Hapon. They joke around us too and tell stories about Arra wayback then. It’s like where have know each other just how long they have know Arra. Maybe Batangenos were like that, they won’t treat you other or just someone’s visitor, they’ll make you feel like you’re home. They don’t even want us to leave early or have a shot before we live. (sympre, nahiya naman kami ni By)

We left there late afternoon, and head back home. Same long roads travelled. Feels sorry to our kind motorcyle driver, Tiano. ๐Ÿ™‚
We took our short rest and then where ready to go to the sea! (wooohoooo!) Its just a short tricycle drive and a few walks.
The sand is black and not as clean as the beaches, but the smell is pure salty. It was definitely the smell of the sea! I get my feet soaked and walk quite far just as long as my shorts wouldn’t get wet.
It’s comforting just in time when I needed it. (you know, I love beaches and so is the sea!)

Next stop to the wet market. Becasue the next day will be Brgy. Dacanlao fiesta, Arra get a big help from By for the foods to be prepared.
I am trying so hard to extend a helping hand in every situation that I know I can help. Because I am not good at anything than offering a help. (and i hope i’ve helped.)
Once done, we head to the Lomihan that us featured in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, we’re Lomi Batangas taste so good. (though the serving is slow.)

We ordered two different type of lomi, 1. The Original Lomi and 2. they call it, Lomi Guisado.
1. The original Lomi is the usual lomi with noodles with thick sauce. For flavouring, you need to squeeze the calamansi, add few chopped chili, pour just the right amount of soysauce, mix and taste. When the taste is enough, pour some of the mixture to lomi and taste.
2. While Lomi Guisado, they called is served on a sizzling plate with vergetales topped with chicharon and few meat and the cooked noodles separated with it’s soup. How to eat? (i am not sure about this but,) just pour a bit of sabaw and and the same soysauce mixture for flavouring.
We don’t got to eat everything ‘coz we are full so we have to take out the remaining Lomi Guisado. (personally, i like Original Lomi most. swabe~~)

Last stop for the day? Back to Peryahan, becasue we don’t get to enjoyed the first day ‘coz the rides our closing, though we didn’t have much time this day too (again *sad face*). We just et Otep enjoyed the mini games we had last time and we ride the Vikings! I am not scared of extreme rides as long as I’ve got a friend whose a brave one, but there is always something to be bothered about. I am scared that the ride might get broken and led an accident. But, thank God!, nothing happens. T’was all fun!
Then, we head back home to prepare the foods to be cooked for tomorrow’s fiesta!!!

But, the night doesn’t just end finishing the chores to do and the places to go to. There is more fun awaits as the night deepens. Inuman session is definitely the night ender! This is or last night here in Dacanlao so I guess, we call a celebration! HAHAHAHA ๐Ÿ˜€
We four, have so much fun that we take the second bottle down. I was a little bit tipsy so I talk too much. HAHAHAHA. (fact) I never get drunk. Our days ends a 5AM the next day.

We supposed to wake up at 7AM the morning, but no one wanted to take the firststep to wake up. We are all glued to bed, but there is so much more to do! (“espiritu ng katamaram, lumayo ka sa amin!”)
We ahve no more but to move our butts! We went to Talipapa to buy meat for our Caldereta and Adobo (i am still in my pjs as we walk along the highway)
Had Kapeng Brarako for breakfast coffee! Beside the fact that I love coffee, the smell is so good and so pure!
Then, we started to cook. As I have mentioned earlier, I don’t know how to cook so I always find something to do that can help By and Arra. Though the meat is quite hard to soften, we still finished and prepared everything before lunch.
By three, we are so read to go home eve everyone else wants us to stay.

I bought Kapeng Barako and Atachara for pasalubong at home. Calaca’s Atachara is so good, it’s sweet and a perfect partner for Adobo *two thumbs up here, please*

It maybe a short three day trip, but it’s an escape from the stress in the city and a our first time trip together. I really did had fun!
A shoutout to Arra for taking us to her hometown and made us feel like home. Thank you ‘le beshie~ *hearts*

#takemetothemountains : Mt. Pico De Loro

If I am happy writing my first travel post, well I am super excited writing my second travel post. Totoo! Why? Kasi, it’s my first time trying out hiking and I am still in awe that I can’t believe to have done such thing.

So, alam nyo na!
For my second travel post, โฉ Mt. Palay-Palay (famously known as Mt. Pico De Loro) Ternate, Maragondon, Cavite ๐ŸŒ„

We have planned this hike for about two weeks before the day (May 8, 2016). At first we planned to do overnight, but upon contacting to DENR Ternate, Cavite, the Mt. Pico De Loro caretakers advised that overnights are not allowed anymore since last year. So, we have to do the day hike. (It’s much easier because you don’t have to worry bringing tent, pillows, blankets, dinner or other snacks) ๐Ÿ™‚

Our plan was to meet up at 3AM, have breakfast, then leave from Biรฑan at 4AM. Plano lang yon. Pero syempre, hindi naman ayon ang susundin. Hehehehe. Matic na yun sa barkada! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘ŒโœŒ

Just to hang you up, (hehee โœŒ) I’ll tell one sad short story. I planned this everything with my awesome boyfriends that two weeks before the day. And everyone has the “more than excited face”. So, we’re six, plus, the two girlfriends, and my two workmates, that would be ten people. But, unfortunately, only half make it on the day. And the saddest part, it wasn’t even the barkada, it was me, my two workmates, only one from barkada (thank you so much Ernie ๐Ÿ’‹) and his girlfriend.

Okay. Let’s get moving.
Reminder #1: Pack light. ๐ŸŽ’
Because ypu have to bring your backpacks travelling, trekking, to the summit until you get home.
If you want to know the things that I pack, here’s the list:
โœ”Shirt, Shorts, Undies, Hankie
โœ”Mini Towel
โ–ชMake sure to make your cellphone battery full, so you don’t have to bring powerbank.
โ–ชDo not forget to bring money, especially when you are only commuting.

For foods, I bought only from convinient store:
BLUE Orange flavored water, Regular-sized Mineral Water, Chocolate Bar, Peanuts, and Mini Cheese Breads.

R #2: Dress comfortably.
I am geared up with shorts (yung makakagalaw ka widely, nang walang possibility na mawakwak ang pundyo ๐Ÿ˜†), white shirt (para hindi malakas maka-absorb ng init), hiking shoes (i bought from Merrell) . I also spread sunblock sa mga areas ng skin ko na expose sa araw and sa face, to prevent from sunburn (dahil sunog na sunog na ako kaka-swimming). ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜†

R #3: Have breakfast.
You must. Make sure that your breakfast can get you through 4 hours of trekking and 30 minutes climbing to the summit.
I meet up with my workmates Ruby and Joyce at Jollibee to take breakfast. We had their breakfast value meal. I had sinangag, beef tapa and coffee.

By 5 AM, we meet Ernie and Aila at the jeepney terminal.
If you are coming fro Biรฑan, ride a jeepney that drops you off to GMA. From GMA, there’s a jeepney terminal that drops off to Pala-Pala. Then, ride a jeepney again that drops off to Trece, ride another jeepney that drops you off to Naic and from Naic ride a tricycle (but we don’t ride tricycle, kasi, may jeep na nag-take samin don sa Pico together witn six other hikers, we pay 100php/head), and tell them that you are going to Pico De Loro, and they will drop you of to DENR Ternate, Cavite, the registration booth.

Yea. It’s one jeepney to another and another. Heheee. FYI, the drive from Naic to DENR Jump Off Point/Registration Booth, is really a long long long ride. But, I still get excited ๐Ÿ˜„

We reach the booth at 8AM. We signed waiver and pay for the registration (i am not sure about tge price but it was lower than a hundered). We were advised that the they are not allowing to climb the Monolith because the soil was a bit soft that makes it dangerous.

We start to trek at around 8AM after we signed the waiver. The trek was a bit of difficult for me, since I have a weight. At first it was rocky, then it was uphill, downhill, uphill again, downhill again, you have to cross over some big branches. The trek keeps me dehydrated and tiring. Because of that, I have to stop, drink and rest. (I really felt sorry for my mates because even if they want to carry on, they have to wait for me, which makes them slower. Peace out guys โœŒ) There man-made seats for you to rest so you can re-charge and unwind.

What was so surprising is that all hikers that we bump into greets “Good Morning” or “Take Care” and so we do. When we ask, “Malayo pa po ba?”, and they would answer an estimated time, or a yes, then would say “Konti na lang po. Malapit na.” I told myself, hikers are delightful people.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘

Along the trek, we would crack a joke, take pictures and never forgets to do selfies, we rest and eat, drink, and get amazed by the people and the nature. Replay. Replay. Replay. ๐Ÿ™‚

When we reach the “tower”. It’s a deck so you could see this amazing view ๐Ÿ‘‡

This view really washes out the feeling of tiredness. The view was amazing. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘Š I was really WOW-ed, froze and speechless. ๐Ÿ’•

We were so immeresed by the view, na ninamnam na namin ng sobra sobra ang kagandahan nito. We feel renewed and energized again, after seeing that one great view at dahil sabi ng mga nakakasalubong namin, its only an hour to get to the camp site. At! ang talagang nagpu-push through sa amin, ay ang nag-aabang na halo-halo sa campsite ๐Ÿ˜…. Chos!

As we reached the campsite at 11:30AM, we see mini stores that offers beverages, instant noodles, mais con yelo and the “much-awaited halo-halo”. We ate our foods and bought halo-halo topped with yema. It’s cooling and refreshing โ„ We got some kwentuhan, still hooked up with the view we see earlier, and in awe surviving the four-hour trek. ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘

At 12NN, we started to climb the summit.
R #4: Be extra careful.
I suggest that you hire a tour guide here, to help you out reaching the summit and going back down to the campsite.
We never thought that the summit was the hardest part. As we try to climb, we are stuck helping the other hikers to come down because the steps are filled with sand soil, there were some rocks but still covered with sand soil. We have to help them to go down so we could have space to climb.

I was really holding very tight sa mga matitigas na bato and making sure to be in a steady pose until I am ready to step up again, because if you are not really careful and sure at what your stepping and holding at, it will be very dangerous. I was on my “dapa” pose when Joyce is instructing me to move on the right side since the ground was a hard one to step on (#spidermanfeels). And when she tells me to hold her hand, I say “Hindi kita makita Joyce.” My head was down to make that my sweat won’t fall down to my eyes. Thank God I reach the top with the help of Ernie. I sat for quite sometime, managing myself and looking at ghe perferct view.

Check these #nofilter photos ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ

Seems like the sky is reachable when your at the summit too โ˜โ›… ๐Ÿ’˜

The view from the summit was definitely a picture perfect ๐ŸŒ„๐Ÿ‘
By 1:30PM, we decided to go down. We get a help from the tour guides. It was really easy to go down with their help since they know where you can step on and help you balance out. From the summit, they will help you get down to the campsite safely for only Php50/per person.

We rest a bit at the campsite, take some more picture of the view, ourselves and looking up the summit, where we are earlier. We have the same thoughts about how hard to reach the summit,

and the same thoughts how every step, every sweat, the long hours of trek, makes everything worth it at the top.

Then we started to trek back down.
We take five hours going down, again because of me. I deeply appreciate my mates’ patience that day. Thank you so much guys for bearing with me. ๐Ÿ’ž I really feel the tireness, my knees wobbles, my legs were stiff, but I have to carry on so we can reach the Jump Off Point before it gets dark. Thank you Aila and Ernie for cheering me up the “Malapit na tayo.” line. Even though it wasn’t yet. ๐Ÿ˜ Hehehee โœŒ

R #5: Drink just enough water. Only to keep you hydrated.

We freshen up when we reach the Jump Off Point.
Going back, we take tricycle until the terminal of Ternate, take a Mini Bus to reach Naic, from Naic we take jeepney that drops off to Trece. At Trece we ate dinner, the team’s first rice meal for the entire day. Then we walk to get to Trece Terminal, and ride jeepney that drops off to Pala-Pala, then to GMA and back to Biรฑan.

I reached home at around 11:30PM.

The view was so perfect. It was amazing, spectacular ๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ†
God’s creation always keeps me speechless and WOW to the extreme.

Twas a really one perfect-awesome-great day. ๐Ÿ™

Lucban x Batangas

How was your summer so far? Mine? Is pretty great and splashing ๐ŸŠ
I am happy to be writing my first travel post for this blog. ๐Ÿ™‚
Destinations: Kamay ni Hesus, Batis Aramin Hotel & Resort, National Shrine of Saint Padre Pio

To Kamay ni Hesus, Lucban Quezon โฉ
Coming from Biรฑan, I rode jeepney that gets off to SM Calamba and from there, there’s a van terminal going straight to Lucban, Quezon. The jeepney fare is around PHP27 (not sure) and the van fare is PHP120. You can add PHP10, so the van driver can drop you off to Kamay ni Hesus.

The road from Calamba to Quezon, is quite long, around 2 hours, passing thru different place of Laguna. I got no sleep during those two hours because I’ve got my super daldal workmate, Joyce. Since she’s been to the places we passed by, I got a free tour. ๐Ÿ˜

When we got there, I was amazed by the place. It was so holy. From the saints lined up along the sidewalk, the church and a big shed to accompany the people who can’t get inside the church since it was so jampacked, and the other holy-related sceneries like, Noah’s Ark, Adan & Eve, Mysteries and the most popular spot, the trail to Kamay ni Hesus which also feature the Stations of the Cross.
I was really wow-ed by how many sculptures we’re there.

Before we trail off, we prayed and light candles in diffrent colors where each color symbolizes different wishes/prayers.
Then we started to trail off.

I never thought that the steps where a bit steep and rocky, but once you started to trail, you cannot back down, because you can only get down when you reach the top and on the left side, there is exit. You also have to trail off to go down.

Yes, it was tiring, specially when its summer, and we trailed off at 12 NN (where the sun is sooo up ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž). There are so many people, maybe because it summer vacation, and they got free of time. We cannot make more selfies, not just because we will look haggard, but because, the goal is to get to the top and see the very big statue of Jesus.

I promise you. Every step, every sweat, it all worth it when you get to see Jesus. ๐Ÿ™โœ‹๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ’˜

Tip: Get enough sleep before trailing off. Make sure you eat before you trail off. Bring enough amount of drinking water to keep you hydrated. I think it is better to trail off at 6AM (time the place opens)

Remember: You can take enough selfies, but the priority it to reach the top, see Jesus, pray, repent and be thankful.

The trail off is not less than 30 minutes. You can rest at the top. We takes few pictures and selfies. Then we trail down to eat lunch.

The place offers carenderias, souviner shops, pasalubong shops and small stalls for snacks and drinks.

Because our check-in to Batis Aramin Hotel & Resort, is at 2PM, and we still have time to spare, we roam around the place. We had some pictures, selfies, we tried to create videos โœŒ

To Batis Aramin Hotel & Resort, Lucban, Quezonโฉ
Since I have planned to go to Lucban and dragged my workmate, Joyce (HEHEHHEE.), gusto kong mag-umpisa ang summer ko. I think of looking for a beach and stayed until the next morning. So, I search the internet for a beach near Kamay ni Hesus and there appread Batis Aramin Hotel & Resort. The place only offers pools but its okay since the place is just the other side of Kamay ni Hesus. It’s a 5-minute walk away from Kamay ni Hesus. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Since we already reserved for a room, we head straight to the front desk, we paid for our stay inclusive of complimentary breakfast and access to five public pools. The room was cozy and clean. Airconditioned, Cable TV, complete toiletries, pretty good for a night stay ๐Ÿ‘

We freshen up when we got there, roam around the place and see many people at the pool, we decided to take a rest and go for a night swimming. The place was pretty big, mfefeel mo na parang nasa bundok ka, mapuno and paligid. Kahit pool yung sswimmingan mo, you’re still with the nature dahil sa ambiance.
By 6, we decided to order dinner, there is a menu and a phone available in the room so you can order via phone and they will serve it to you in your room.

I orderded Lucban Longganisa Pasta and Batis Aramin Super Burger with fries plus a Melon Shake. And Joyce, ordered, Rice& Chicken Stake, Batis Aramin Super Burger with fries too, and a Ripe Mango Shake. The food serving really takes quite sometime, maybe because it was made to order, but the amount of serving is enough for dinner. ๐Ÿ‘Š
I didn’t get to eat my burger right after I finished my pasta because Im already full. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

After dinner, we had our night swimming. Since Joyce doesn’t swim, I was the only once dipping in the pool and swim at my risk ๐ŸŠ #refreshing ๐Ÿ‘Œ

The next morning,we got our complementary breakfast. They offer: sinangag, tocino, juice, coffee, chococlate, bread, peanut butter, soup, and watermelon.
After having breakfast, we decided to get back to Kamay Ni Hesus and hear the mass, we bought some souviniers before the mass started walk around the place taking picture since there fewer people. After the mass, we get back to the our room and prepare to check out at 12NN.

We roam around Lucban Town Proper. We wanted to see the Church of Lucban but it was closed since it 12NN. We ate at the carenderias just around the corner and walk to the terminal to get back to Calamba and travel to Batangas ๐Ÿš๐Ÿš๐Ÿš

To National Shrine of Saint Padre Pio, Batangas โฉ
I was slept all along travelling back to Calamba.
I was not sure where we get on and off going to Padre Pio, since was still high from the Lucban experience. But we get to Batangas by 5PM.
Lucky us, we hear the last mass, it was our second mass attended that day. ๐Ÿ™
The Church was big and so beautiful. It was made with bamboo and I really love the Jesus and God Almight hang in the center of the roof of the chuch. I was extremely wow-ed. โ˜โ˜

I make time to see the whole place. And it was really, very beautiful. ๐Ÿ‘Œ
I fell inlove ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

This trip was an amazing 2Days & 1Night๐ŸŽ‰. Thank you so much Joyce for travelling with me. ๐Ÿ’‹ Sobrang sulit. Fulfilling ๐Ÿ’–
